Kami Dempsey-Goudie has an extensive background in all aspects of government relations, community outreach & engagement, long-term infrastructure planning and public policy. Kami founded Accretive Consulting, a political, government affairs & communications firm, in 2003.
The firm has enjoyed tremendous success, recently winning all issue and candidate campaigns in both the 2016 and 2018 general election cycle. Kami has also conducted media relations, message development, coalition building, fundraising and event planning for an array of issues and elected officials serving in the Nevada Supreme Court, Executive Branch, State Legislature, the Clark County Commission and other local municipalities.
Kami utilized her public policy expertise to assist the Nevada State Assembly in developing the session’s legislative priorities and the Speaker’s individual public policy agenda. Prior to starting Accretive, she represented the Las Vegas City Council and each city department’s agenda before the State Legislature as Government Affairs Manager. She then became Public Affairs Director and oversaw a local technology company’s government and regulatory agenda at all governing levels while concurrently overseeing $3 million charitable giving and outreach budget. Kami was passionate about employee enhancement programs and developed new opportunities for the more than 1,300 team members to engage in local charitable giving and community engagement efforts.
Kami got her start in Southern Nevada politics managing the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s (5th largest in the nation at the time) Government Affairs Division, strategic polling & research operations. She also oversaw the grass tops and grassroots activities which advocated for pro-business policies and candidates. During her tenure in that role, she ran a statewide coalition to fight the implementation of a business income tax and managed efforts for a new funding mechanism to help pay for water supply enhancements.
In her role as an advocate for various private and public sector clients, Kami has worked alongside members of the United States Congress on numerous federal and regional issues ranging from: natural resources and clean energy projects; economic challenges & job growth; and other various social issues impacting society. She has a deep-rooted understanding of legislative and administrative processes, as well as a keen awareness how local government works from inside the walls, which all provide a unique and comprehensive perspective when developing strategies for clients.
Kami is a native Las Vegan. She holds an M.B.A. from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado. She is an IAP2 certified Public Participation Planning & Management Practioner.
